FAQ

What’s the dress code?

Garden party casual! Think floral or flowy dresses with a light jacket or nice jeans/slacks with a collared shirt, hats optional. (Beer garden, not ballroom — but if you feel fancy, go for it!) We’ll be in an uncovered outdoor area with a mixture of grass and gravel, so bring an extra layer and wear comfortable shoes.

What’s October like in Albuquerque?

Warm days, crisp nights — our favorite season! We typically expect highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s, but keep an eye on the weather forecast. The weather cools off quickly after sunset, so do bring a jacket.

Where should I stay?

We have a small room block at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Downtown. Two ways to book:

  1. Reserve a room online via our custom link

  2. Call 1-800-EMBASSY and give “Group Code”: 90K

This special rate is only available until our RSVP deadline, 9/1/2026.

If you aren’t seeing the special rate, our room block may be full. If you’re still interested in a room, please text Becky or Trevor and we’ll see if it’s possible to add more rooms! (Subject to hotel availability.)

If you plan to stay elsewhere, both the wedding party and Balloon Fiesta are on the northwest side of Albuquerque (we live close to Old Town), though those areas will be the most popular. You might also consider staying near one of the Balloon Fiesta Park & Ride lots to avoid traffic on Fiesta mornings. Almost anywhere in town will be <30 minutes from our venue.

We recommend booking travel ASAP if you plan to join us. Hotels rarely sell out, but they will get more expensive the longer you wait to book!

What’s the parking situation?

Ex Novo has a dedicated parking lot, but please carpool if you can to maximize space. Overflow parking is available next door at San Ysidro Catholic Church. (There’s also bike parking and even horse parking at the venue, if you feel like making an entrance!)

What if the weather is bad?

Party on, rain or shine! (Within limits.) Our venue is open to the elements, with a small covered area to huddle under in the event of a storm. In Albuquerque, rains are typically brief. 🤞

Wait, so you’re already married?!

We will be by the day of the party! We’re eloping just us (and Smokey) in the San Juan mountains of Colorado, our “church” and happy place, a few days before.

We’ll share a short commitment in front of our family & friends at the “happily ever after party,” but there won’t be a “wedding” to attend. The party is the point!

What time should I arrive at Ex Novo for the party?

Please arrive no earlier than 5:00 (when the beer garden area closes to the public) and no later than 5:30 for a Beverage Burro Happy Hour.

Can I bring a plus-one? What about kids?

Due to our venue’s capacity, unnamed plus ones are limited: check your RSVP for details. All guests must be listed in your RSVP, including children. Trevor’s six delightful nieces and nephews ages 1-8 will be in attendance, and your kids are welcome as well! (You’re also welcome to make it a date night and get a babysitter if you prefer.)

No dance floor?! What will we do at the party?

No DJ or dance floor — but we’ll have a playlist going, so groove if you want to! (This isn’t Footloose.) We’ll also have lawn games, s’mores, a craft station, beverage burros, and plenty of food & drink.

Why are you ending so early?

We planned the party for early October because it’s our favorite time of year in Albuquerque: Balloon Fiesta!!

For the best possible Balloon Fiesta experience, we recommend leaving your hotel/house for Balloon Fiesta Park no later than 4:30a.m. on Saturday. (Ugh, we know.) By ending the party at 9p.m on Friday, we hope that we’ll all be somewhat well-rested. (Also, Ex Novo closes at 9p.m. You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay there.)

What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?

Please include any allergies or restrictions in your RSVP survey. We plan to offer yummy gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options, and will do our best to accommodate other dietary requirements.

Is Becky changing her name?

Nope! She’s pretty attached to “Becky Wood” at this point, personally and professionally. She always said she’d only change it if her future husband’s name were incredibly cool and unique…and as incredibly cool and unique as Trevor himself is, “Jones” isn’t. ;)

Will there be food?

Yes!! Drinks, dinner and dessert on us!

Something we missed?

Text or call Becky or Trevor. We are SO excited to see you in October!
